FICO, global analytics software leader, announced that Guild Mortgage, New American Funding and PennyMac Financial Services have enrolled in the FICO® Preferred Program and will continue to pull FICO® Scores across their mortgage lending operations. Their participation adds to growing momentum behind the program and underscores the mortgage industry’s continued demand for FICO Scores.

The latest participants join Fairway Home Mortgage, Movement Mortgage and Rate, which previously announced their participation in the FICO® Preferred Program. The program provides lenders access to both Classic FICO® Score and FICO® Score 10T.

“Strong mortgage lending starts with a clear and accurate understanding of credit risk,” said Julie May, Vice President and General Manager of B2B Scores at FICO. “The FICO Preferred Program gives enrolled lenders access to the trusted standard that has supported mortgage lending for decades and FICO Score 10T, the most predictive credit score available to the mortgage industry. Better risk assessment means greater confidence for lenders and more responsible opportunities for borrowers.”

Classic FICO® Score has been the trusted standard in mortgage lending for nearly three decades, while FICO® Score 10T is the most predictive credit score available to the mortgage industry and incorporates trended credit bureau data and rental payment information. Pulling both can help lenders make more precise risk decisions that support the safety and soundness of the mortgage finance system, while helping qualified borrowers access more competitive terms and potentially save thousands of dollars over the life of a mortgage.
